On 27 March we held the Dubai Rating awards ceremony in Dubai, at The Fridge in Alserkal.
The heart of the evening was the ceremony itself, with awards — acrylic certificates made by our friends at DA Branding and 3D-printed statuettes combining the shape of a matryoshka with Arabic arches, by designer Vivee Home. But we wanted the event to be not only festive but also useful and bringing people together.
So we started with a task: guests had to find someone from the same city as them. Winners were drawn at random from all the pairs who completed it, and one of them turned out to be two women from Langepas — a town of 42,000 people in Western Siberia.
The festive mood was complemented by PechaKucha talks from speakers from the PRHub agency, the ROOTS service and the founder of Meet For Charity and Dubai Friends. They talked about the difference between PR in Russia and the UAE, the growing popularity of dairy and the importance of believing in yourself.
Guests also enjoyed paintings by a local artist from the Inloco gallery, alcohol-free cocktails and acoustic guitar songs from Mika Vino.
